Nom Nom kids are the weaning tool that toddlers can carry straight through to school. Unlike so many purchases around the weaning stage, you really get enough bang for your buck with these little pouches! They are not a one hit wonder!
Baby number two is on the way! Post Fertility treatment bliss and relief was replaced with extreme nausea and aversions to most food other than toast and general white carbohydrates! So really healthy! It’s weird this time you do everything on your own because someone needs to mind Ned where as last time we were like loves young dream going to every appointment hand in hand.
I was never one for wanting a whole brood of Babies! in fact, I didn’t really pay that much attention to babies before my own! Let’s just say I was not a Baby sniffer! I’ve always worked with children and teenagers and enjoyed that so much …. I guess, I thought that’s where all the action was, so to speak. Diagnosed with severe polycystic ovaries at an early age, it was probably self-preservation to repeatedly insist that “the yearn” wasn’t really there, because who knew what life had in store for me. This is for the Mamas who inspired, encouraged Ned helped me through my first year of motherhood. To my amazing friends and family both physical and virtual! Mother’s Day seems a most appropriate a time to publish this. This is not a blissful blog about how my heart has never felt so full of love and how every burp my baby makes my life seem worth while. Nature or nurture hmmmm…
Watching the relationship between a three-year old sausage dog , raised and trained by humans, and a new born baby is pure theatre. Also, factor in that the new born is developing in to less new-born and more man baby with each day! Overall this scenario would overwhelm your mind set on the discussion of Nature and Nurture!
The strangest thing said to me when I announced I was pregnant was not “congratulations, when are you due? “………no , it was “ohh what about the dog?”
Hmmm… This, still to this day, baffles me……WelI,….I Guess ..now we’ve the hope of a “real” baby it’s to the pound with Mulligan! It was nice while it lasted Mulli, thanks for the good times.! Continue reading
I wonder if a baby knew it had super power would it continue using it for good?
When you announce the joyful news ” I’m pregnant” how often will you be told “Oh your life will never be the same!” There’s continued comments, statements, advice and many Dos and Donts offered to you whether you want them or not.
But sure enough, for each parent, life will never be the same again! It’s not just your life a baby changes or you as a person they change, it’s those unsuspecting on lookers too. Those closest to you, congratulating you and screaming in excitement, they haven’t even realised that this little baby will change them too. Continue reading
New Year, New you….hmm? Bah humbug to that! What’s wrong with the old me!
What did I do so wrong in 2016 that I’ve to change? We all survived didn’t we? Maybe a little greyer and little rounder perhaps. We’re in Ireland… a little hibernation fat is essential! Continue reading
My dad started keeping hens this year, to our delight. Four hens, I named them the Kardashians; Kris, Kim, Khloe and Kourtney. The difference between the shop bought and his is nothing less than shocking! We are now cursed with a high standard for eggs. The bar is set, they’re eggcellent! Not a hope I’d make it through without an egg pun. I’m not even sorry!
This is my waiting patiently face, not for santa, not for the man in red nope….. Continue reading
Always best to say a little bit about yourself when entering a new group, community, world, planet! Well social media and motherhood are a new world to me and both came together in the same year. I’m enjoying both, making plenty of mistakes regularly but succeeding daily too. I was born and raised in County Limerick and did a degree in Intellectual Disability Nursing in The University of Limerick. I went straight from there to The University of Swansea and completed a masters in Applied behaviour Analysis (ABA). Continue reading
